Your smile complete again

Are you missing a tooth? This can be filled with an implant.

Bone building

To place an implant, there must be sufficient bone present. If this is not the case, bone reconstruction may be necessary. For example, if a tooth has been missing for a long time and the jaw has already shrunk.

Local anesthesia

Placing an implant is performed under local anesthesia. After the anesthesia has been administered, the dentist loosens the gums at the location where the implant is to be placed. He drills a hole in the jawbone, where the implant is placed. He then sutures the gums. When placing multiple implants, these actions are repeated.

Healing process after implant

After placing the implant, expect a healing phase of six weeks to several months. The implant must fuse firmly with your jawbone. Every case is unique, so is every healing phase. Self-dissolving sutures are often used and otherwise the sutures are removed after two weeks, this will be discussed with you. Good oral hygiene is of great importance for a successful healing process.

Crown, bridge or denture

During the healing phase, the crown, bridge or denture is made for you. Once the implants are well adhered to the jawbone, the final replacement can be placed onto the implants.

Aftercare after implant

For the long-term success of the treatment, a careful control and aftercare program is necessary. After placement, you must be checked by the implantologist or your own dentist at least once a year and sometimes once every 3-6 months. We look at the implant, the replacement, the bone level, the gums and general oral hygiene.

Help from the dental hygienist

Implant treatment is a costly process. It is therefore very important that you come for regular check-ups. The dental hygienist can help you with this. Insufficient care can lead to inflammation, which can cause the implants to be lost prematurely. Every few years, X-rays should be taken to check whether the stability of the implants and the connection of the restorative devices is still sufficient. The device will also be checked manually for hold, wear and connection. This way, you can be assured of a complete and healthy set of teeth.
